Residential (Epoxy Toilet Floor)
Some of the most common residential areas where epoxy is used are predominantly used in kitchen, toilet and car porch. As most people are commonly aware, epoxy is a special type of paint which is known for its toughness, high durability, anti-slip and has good moisture resistant. Therefore, for residential areas, epoxy is being used in places where there might be wet and potentially slippery.
In this instance, when we are looking at epoxy for residential use, we will focus especially on epoxy used in the toilet. Epoxy is mainly used as a type of flooring. There are a few options, either it is being used as pebbles, where epoxy resin are used to hold the pebbles or another type of use where the epoxy coating is just made by painting on the floor of the toilet.
For epoxy used for pebbles, it provides a strong grip and anti-slip for the toilet floor. It is especially suitable when you have elderly or children using the toilet, as the epoxy surface with pebbles provide a coated surface, which added grip to the toilet floor.
Whereas for epoxy coating, it is usually being used on the walls of the toilet. Toilet and bathrooms typically have a very high amount of moisture, whether due to water from shower, or steam or water vapour on the walls. Hence, with epoxy, it provides a good coating on the toilet walls which prevents moisture from seeping through the walls and affecting thexternal wall outside of the toilet.
Epoxy also comes in multiple colour or it may also be colourless. Hence, it can also be used to have a contrast and colour tone of the toilet. However, ultimately epoxy is being favoured for its durability, anti-slip and water resistant function.
